Students are expected to wear the school’s uniform for all syllabus and non-syllabus classes including footwear. Hair must be off the face for all classes and in a neat bun for classical ballet. Jewellery, watches and make-up are not permitted in class.
New students can wear suitable clothing such as leggings/shorts and a t-shirt while they settle. Once a student is registered and has been attending for a few weeks, correct attire is required.
A dress code ensures teachers can see the dancer’s alignment and ensures safe practice. It teaches discipline and aids focus and energy. Wearing a uniform gives the students a sense of belonging and equality. It helps to minimise distraction a gives the class a unified look.
